    If you’re vegetarian, you can still make this dish. Substitute the chicken breasts for Portobello mushrooms and stuff leftover sukumawiki or spinach into the mushrooms 😀

    Got leftover Sukuma wiki? Here’s how you want to use it 😋 Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts Salt to taste Freshly ground black pepper 3 tbsp oil 1 onion, finely chopped 1 tbsp garlic, chopped 3 tomatoes, blended 1 stock cube Leftover Sukuma wiki Dhania, for garnishing Pembe Maize Meal, for ugali Method: Heat oil in a pan and place the chicken breasts. Season with salt and pepper and cook for about 10 minutes on each side. Set aside. In the same pan, saute the onions and garlic. Add the tomatoes, stock cube and salt and stir. Meanwhile slice the chicken breast through the center, not cutting all the way through and stuff leftover Sukuma wiki or spinach in there. Use a toothpick the secure it and then add the chicken to the tomato sauce. Cover the chicken with the sauce, simmer for 2-3 minutes and then garnish with coriander leaves. For the Ugali: Boil 2 cups of water and then slowly add 1 cup of maize meal and stir as you add the flour. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to break the lumps and pound the ugali to the side of the pot as it cooks. Continue doing this for a couple of minutes and then shape and take it out on a plate. Slice the ugali to whatever shape you’d like and serve with the stuffed chicken and a side of kachumbari and enjoy.

    This short cut chickpea biryani is not just easy to make but super tasty too. Ingredients for the chickpeas: 3 tbsp oil 3 onions, sliced 1 tbsp ginger paste 1 tsp chili powder (optional) 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp pilau masala ½ cup natural yoghurt 2 cups chickpeas, boiled Salt to taste For the rice: 1 cup Daawat Biryani rice Salt to taste 1 tsp mixed whole spices (cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, cardamom and cloves) Method for the chick peas: Heat oil in a pot and add the onions. Cook until slightly browned and then add the ginger paste and stir. Add the spices and stir again before adding the yoghurt/mala, chick peas and salt. Cook for 3-5 minutes and set aside. For the rice: Add the biryani rice, salt and whole spices to boiling water and cook for 10 minutes or until 80-90% cooked. Layer the rice onto the chick peas and then cover and let it steam for 5 minutes. Garnish with dhania/coriander leaves, stir and serve.

    Butter chicken makes any Father happy. Its packed full of flavour, and is truly an act of love. Ingredients for the chicken: 2-3 chicken breasts, cut into pieces 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1 tsp chili powder/paprika 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin powder 2 tbsp oil Salt to taste For the curry: 3 tbsp butter 1 tsp cumin powder 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1/4 cup cashewnuts 1 tsp chili powder/paprika 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin powder 2 tbsp kasuri methi (optional) Salt to taste 3 tomatoes, blended 1/2 cup milk/heavy cream Dhania, for garnishing For the rice: 1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp cumin seeds 1 1/2 cups Daawat Basmati Rice 3 cups water Salt to taste Method: Prep the chicken by mixing together all the ingredients for the chicken. Cook the chicken in a pot until it is cooked almost all the way. Take it out on a plate and set aside. Add butter to the pot and then add cumin seeds and let them splatter. Add the onions, ginger garlic paste and cashewnuts and cook for 5 minutes. Add the spices and salt and then add the tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes. Add the milk or cream and then blend until smooth. Return the mixture back to the pot and then add the chicken back in. Simmer for 5 minutes and then add some more butter and mix. Finally smoke the butter chicken (optional). For this, use a small onion piece and place it on the curry. Add a small amount of butter or oil on it and then place a lit up charcoal on it and cover the pot tightly as soon as it smokes. Let this stand for 10 minutes and then remove the coal and stir. For the rice, heat oil and add the cumin seeds. Add the washed rice and salt and stir. Add the water and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked, about 12-15 minutes. Sprinkle coriander leaves and fluff the rice. Serve the butter chicken with the coriander and jeera rice and naans if you'd like to.

    Havent had Taffi for such long time. My grandma use to fry Taffi, with Muhogo and red chilli sauce. Thank you for sharing the recipe. I m drooling and its Sunday and hot, were am i goin to find Taffi in Zürich?😂😂.

    Hi and thanks for your wonderful video on samosas. I love the kitchen and enjoy a lot of my time preparing meals that I lernt from my mum while growing up in Mombasa, Kenya. The biggest challenge I have and I guess for many others as well is making the samosa wraps. I would not buy ready made wraps for home made samosas. Could you kindly do a short video on how you make your wraps.❤
